Who we are
The idea of establishing the European Institute for Human Values dates back to the summer of 2019, and several years passed before its physical establishment. The first founding Assembly was held on November 23th 2022. while the official decision and document of its foundation was issued on February 15th 2023.
The European Institute for Human Values is part of a worldwide network of Institutes for Human Values, which essentially have the same or a similar mission in common. The mission and values of EIHV as a symbol are presented in the logo of the Institute. Its description and meaning can be read below.
Logo
A golden tree with a bird of paradise on it, in combination of gold and dark red color.Â
A golden tree as a symbol of knowledge and a bridge between earth and sky (heaven), well balanced material and spiritual aspects. It also stands as a symbol for correctness, compassion and selflessness.
Rich tree top (wide branches and leaves) as a symbol of a generous and diverse educational programs and projects of selfless service that implementing human values in daily life strengthen selflessness and nobility, develop awareness of the connection of everything that lives and finally change the paradigm from a society of competition to a society of cooperation.
Tree’s strong trunk and roots illustrates EIHV’s stability, reliability, wisdom gained by the maturity of years as well as EIHV’s growth and rebirth.Â
The bird of paradise points and calls for a liberation that can only come if we keep flying tending towards heavens. But while we are inhabiting earthly form (the body) we should do our very best to live the life as a kind human being, staying in the tree branches as a living example of human values. To love all and serve all, to help ever and hurt never.
